Bio/Description

Valentina González-Rostani is Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Bobst Center for Peace and Justice at Princeton University for the 2024-2025 academic year. Starting in Fall 2025, she will join the University of Southern California (USC) as an Assistant Professor in Political Science and International Relations. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Her primary research interests lie at the intersection of international political economy and comparative politics.

Valentina's dissertation and book project investigate the impact of technological change on individual political behavior and the evolution of party systems, examining the interactions between economic, cultural, and institutional factors. She employs a mixed-methods approach that includes quantitative analysis, text-as-data techniques, survey experiments, and formal modeling. Additionally, she has research interests in international trade, and political methodology.

 Before moving to the US, Valentina obtained an MPP from the Universidad Católica del Uruguay and a BA in Public Accounting from the Universidad de la República, where she also taught. Additionally, she was a political organizer and advised national politicians in Uruguay.
