Barbara Buckinx is a Research Scholar and Lecturer in Public and International Affairs at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University. Her research interests lie in global governance, migration, refugees, citizenship, and borders. Her work has appeared in Critical Review of International Social and Political Philosophy, PS: Political Science & Politics, Migration Studies, Ethics & International Affairs, and Global Justice: Theory Practice Rhetoric. A recent project on the ‘weaponization’ of migrants focuses, inter alia, on Belarus, where, starting in 2021, the regime facilitated the journey of irregular migrants to the border with Poland.
